One of the areas vital to the Winlow Place Community is our deed restriction. There is a movement underway to amend the deed restrictions to increase the maximum height of homes in our community. To preserve the look and feel of Winlow Place we need to only consider changes to the deed restrictions when absolutely necessary, particularly when a change will only benefit a few homeowners and developers and encourage the development of structures that my not fit into the nature of our neighborhood.

At this point I, personally, have seen no evidence that the proposed change will benefit the Winlow Place Community, and believe it could, in the long run, weaken the deed restrictions by allowing special interests to change he restrictions for their own purposes, not for the benefit of the community as a whole. While there are homes already exceeding the currently defined limit, these could be grandfathered specifically and not open the way for wholesale new construction that will change the nature of the neighborhood. I urge those members of the Winlow Place Community who have not signed the pending petition to refrain from doing so.
